After purchasing a bike with the new navigation system, I also downloaded the HD app. For fun, I decided to join in on a, weekend challenge. I was going to be logging miles to break in the bike, so I thought what the hell, why not? Well the challenge was something like, 100 miles and check in at least one dealership. Well I went to two different dealerships today, and it didnt register either. What is the systemic process to, check in, at a dealership. The people at the dealership that I tried to ask, didnt seem to really know themselves.
The app doesn't seem to be very user friendly to me. If you are recording your ride to collect the miles and you stop at a dealership. At least on my phone you have pause then finish the ride to check in at dealership. Can't check in while your are recording a ride. You have to manually check in at the dealership once your are at the dealership. Then start a new ride to collect the miles again. If you stop at several dealerships during your ride, you have to repeat these steps at each dealership. Also make sure you finish the ride. If you tell it to just end the ride, you won't get credit for the miles. Most of the time I don't get credit for all the miles I have ridden, usually about 2/3 of my miles. Seems like if I have phone in power saving mode, it goes to sleep and doesn't given me full credit.
Yes, you have to "finish" the ride when you get to the dealer and then you can check in at the dealer by clicking "Check in." The problem in my area is the dealers do not list the events on the app, so I go to dealers further away (which is great for me since i like to ride, but I do feel it hurts the local dealers) and one about 40 miles sway has some good bands and other things going on and give me a good reason to ride over there.
Yeah, like the others said, you have to finish your ride before the "Check In" button becomes accessible. Mine seems to record the miles correctly so far. I've been using it about a month now.

You can "pause" the ride. Then "Check In". Then resume after.
This will be my first attempt at the dealer check-in .................Lets see if I understand .................
I'm recording my ride as usual and get to the dealership
I hit pause and then since the app (GPS) knows I'm at a dealership location, it presents me with a 'check in' button ? (I dont have to navigate to some other screen to see this, right ?)
I press the 'check in' button
And then resume the ride ?

DH, I attempted those exact steps last week and had no success. I have yet to see a "Check-In" button anywhere in the App. Likewise I have yet to find anyone at a dealership that uses or knows how to use the app....Let us know if you figure it out...
