My strong recommendation is for riders that do not yet suffer from hearing damage to proactively select some form of hearing protection. I waited too long and suffer with tinnitus. If you want an earplug that is comfortable, invisible, allows you to listen to music or hear the Bluetooth then I would recommend Earasers. Every person has a different style, but if the above mention features are important then I would look into them. Please get some form of protection, because there is no cure for tinnitus, one can only manage the symptoms. With today's technology, there is no reason to kick the can down the road and take your chances. More than likely you can find a product that will protect your hearing while still allowing you to do what you want.

To reduce the ambient noise. I won't ride without them. My hearing is still great and I want to keep it that way.
Try to converse with someone in a loud bar with and without your ears plugged. See if you notice a huge difference.
