The lops are a harder tire, less traction more miles than most, usually. It does look like you ran over something but, a tire guru I aint.
I run Avons, softer tire better handling less miles. I have never had issue one with them.
I had a rear 200 Dunlop do that. Mine was much worse. It's the beginning/end seam of the rubber. It is coming apart and is a tire defect.
Looks like you're about at the end of it's life anyway.
As far as your next brand.......I like Avons. I care about sticky first, mileage last.
Like I said I saw another one do the same thing. Thats what I thought ,delaminating .Like the beginning of a roll of toilet paper. I have an Avon on the rear of my Sportster that sticks pretty good.Thats what Im thinking of trying this time
