18 CVO RG so hydraulic clutch. Need to trailer bike (I know, don't be a wuss and just ride it). Bars are a few inches wider than my old setup so even with condor wheel chock moved as far inboard as it can go without causing a problem for the other bike in trailer the clutch lever is only about .5" from wall.
If I use a zip tie and pull the clutch lever in about 3/4 of normal travel it gives me plenty of room. I think it should be fine since nothing is moving but I'm no clutch expert either - any concerns with the clutch lever being in that position for an extended time??
Have you had the slave cylinder recall done yet? If not, if your's is suseptible, you might have issues once you get where you're going. Are you just worried about damaging the lever?
Worst case the clutch lever banging into the wall of the trailer will leave a nice hole. Not worried about the lever itself, more concerned if there's any issues with the internals if the lever is engaged the whole time.
Make some sort of pad and forget about it. I think there's better ways to prevent a hole. If it were me, I'd take a piece of 2x4, drill a hole half way through and put it over the lever. If anything, the contact with the trailer should help stabilize things.

What I was thinking too. Or mount a brace between the wall and a padded peice against the bike so it can't go to the wall.
You need to haul the bike in neutral anyway so I would remove the lever also. If you haul it in gear, the rocking back and forth can lock up the transmission so do yourself a favor and haul it in neutral with the bike in transport mode.
Just get a very small c clip retainer set of pliers, I changed my original clutch lever to an Oberon adjustable in about 2 minutes. Just put the tiny retainer clip where you won't lose it!
