No heel shifter! Its not an Electra-Glide if it doesnt have a heel shifter. Been using a heel shifter for 37 years and Im not about to change. Cant remember for sure but dont you have to pull the inner primary to put a longer shaft for a heel shifter.
They got rid of the saddle bag rails, the front and rear bumpers and now no heel shifter! Sad! I think I need to find me a good used 2008 Ultra.
The 2019 FLHT doesn't have a heel shifter, and uses the same shifter shaft (#33) as the rest of the Touring models equipped with a heel shifter. The spacer (#3) is longer on the FLHT, which moves the toe shifter out to the end of the shaft. If a heel shifter is desired, it can be installed in minutes using the short spacer.
heel and toe shifters work well on bikes with pegs...because you can rock your foot back and forth on the peg. On bikes with floor boards the heel shifter just gets in the way and IMO is awkward to use. Took mine off my 18 ultra limited the day I got it home.

Because it's a waste of footboard space. I usually take mine off before I leave the dealership. SO much more comfortable without it! Hopefully, it saves me a few bucks...

I guess a matter of opinion. I love mine on my '09 ultra. Have zero issues with room on the floorboard either.
The heel shifter was intended as a way to protect the toe area of polished boots - such as what motorcycle police officers would wear. If you wear really nice boots while riding, and seek to keep them that way, a heel shifter provides functional benefit. Other than that, it is just an extra thing that, in some cases, has contributed to excess wear on the shifter shaft and related components by much more force being applied by the operator than what is required to upshift.

I always remove the heel shifter when I get a new bike. Just never liked them. Only problem I have is that I have to replace my left shoelace fairly often, boots are otherwise unaffected.
