I think they are not selli them to make hype, it adds a new unique paint scheme that some may enjoy and like. I say go for it every 5 years... gives some to look forward to not with a bike thats an Annv. model for value but for looks.
I would agree with you but, tshirt, jackets, hats, bags, coffee cups, chrome, ...........

Anniversary models are a dime a dozen and will be for years to come. It's not like they made limited numbers of them - they made as many as they could sell. I doubt any of us will be alive to see the value of a 100th anniversary model rise above a bike produced in the 99th or 101st year of Harleys history - if the value rises at all.

I think slow sales on this year's anniversary bikes are going to be a lesson to Harley. They're now offering 1.05% financing to get rid of them. Every five years is overkill and choosing the duracell color scheme (as the only choice) was a mistake. It's a "love it or hate it" color and they're not moving like they hoped. One dealer in northern Pa. must have thought they were going to fly off the floor because his showroom was packed full of them. This was in late October so his gamble wasn't paying off. Seeing every model in one spot like that turned us against the color.
