Default Consignment shops and Title

I was thinking about putting my 15 RK in a local shop to sell. Do they require you to sign the title when you leave the bike or after they have money in hand?

I'm thinking that's a question you should ask them.

That said, NFW I ever sign over a title to anyone until the bike is paid for.

after. what if they don't sell it?
i have always found they want to make so much on the top of it, it's kind of a deal breaker.

did you try FB marketplace? gets a lot of exposure, but I still find CL to be better.

That's a very good practice.

You might also look in to consigning it through your local dealership. Some will do consignment and some won't, but if they do, they are going to have a much wider base of potential buyers, and it will give you another alternative for comparing the % taken by consignment. I sold my '12 SG that way as I have a great relationship with my dealership and they highly discounted the % based upon that. Just thought I'd throw that out there as well. Good luck either way.

I put my travel trailer up for sale on both a few hours ago. I've had 5 responses on Facebook Market Place, none of them seem to be a scam yet, I've have 6 responses from Craigslist, 2 I'm pretty sure are scams offering to send me a cashiers check without looking at the trailer or asking any questions other than what is the lowest I will accept.

I had my Dyna listed for sale on both, the buyer was the first guy that contacted me on Craigslist.

I sold some power tools (belt sander, radial arm saw, band saw) a couple months ago two sold from FB contacts one from CL.

So they both work, I just find more scammers on CL.

This bike is not even on my radar any more. I hate dealing with anything related to PennDOT. Even when things go right its a hassle and expensive, I bought a 1980 Yamaha as a COVID project back in February and even with a clean & clear title it took about 30 minutes and cost me $138 to transfer the title and I only paid $125 for the damn bike!

When things are cloudy like this deal I'm sure its just more trouble than it's worth.

Ahh February ? You don't have to make up stories as to why you bought it.
