Default HELP PLEASE: Question about downsizing ape hangers.

Hi, I have 16 inch ape hangers on my bike right now and was thinking I want to install 12 or 14 inch ones. Do I have to get shorter cables? Thanks

Probably don't "have to" but most likely you will want to. Now get prepared to be welcomed to the forum...

Welcome to the forums. I would say to leave the longer cables on for the simple fact that, if you want to go back up to taller bars, the wire length is already there and you will not have to change them again.

Honestly, I would say to leave the taller ones on and get used to it like that. You might like it higher....

Nope. For that little bit of change, I'd equalize the extra 2-4 inches between the handlebars and the other points of contact and call it good.

I wouldn't. Tuck the excess wire under the tank and secure with zip ties. Play with the cable routing and it should work out.
