I found the source of breaking the bolt, and man I feel like a bonehead! I was looking at the torque spec page on the manual and must have saw 45 ft pounds on another line, it is actually supposed to be 14. Anyhow, I’m going to look at the manual with a blank piece of paper to make sure I’m looking at the right line from now on.

I got the new chrome bracket today, but was sweating it out. The HD email showed next day air with 10;30am delivery, and I was going to install as much as I could on my lunch hour, but no delivery. The UPS man dropped it off here at 4:30. It’s all back together, and test ridden, and all is well. (AND no more rubbing noise)

Also got greeted my trailer bearings, gave it a once over and coupled it up to my bike.

Last thing is to pack it up tomorrow after work

Man, if my screw-ups only cost my $200 I would be happy!
Have a good trip.

You won't be the first or the last rider who gets into trouble using a torque wrench.
Lesson learned, at least you got it all back together with no further problems!

We got the trip in with no issues at all. Both biked performed flawlessly, with only 2 stupid non affecting mishaps. When we stopped for a photo opp getting off the BRP, my wife’s helmet fell off her bike, and the visor screw popped out. Not a big deal because, when looking for a hardware store, we stumbled in to the Wheels Through Time Musium. - Of course I had to buy some give-a-way chances.......who knows, that lost screw may pay off big tome...that is one sweet ride

The othe small issues was I got a bee sting very close to my crotch. Hurt like hell, and swelled up a crazy mount, but I kept the bike under control, and rode on.

I didnt take many pics this trip (thats weird for me) but here are a few.

Rowlesburg, WV, Kinda of felt a bit out of place

Running the BRP - Virginia

Running the BRP NC

BRP - NC

Wheels Through time bike give-a-way (hopefully they pull my name )
