Slack in throttle

2007 ultra classic. I have what feels like slack in my throttle cable. I have to turn the grip a little before I feel pressure. Should I leave it alone or can it be adjusted out?

You can adjust the cable. But, I think that you should also inspect the cable as the slack may indicate that your cable has stretched and may break/snap any time soon.

They need a little slack or when you turn the handlebars, it will get tight and accelerate by itself. There is a procedure that tells you how to set it properly in the maint manual.

Could be too much. Just make sure after the adjustment you can turn the handlebars from stop to stop without affecting idle speed.

Both cables should have a slight amount of play at throttle body. Note this should be correct at both locks of the handlebars. So you may have a little at grip.

Follow service manual to check it. Depending on miles, those two little clips cups the ***** on end of cable sit in may have worn a little.
