Ha! The listing I found has already been pulled. These folks kill me. I'm not too dissapointed though, I found another SWEET deal. Too bad this one dosn't have a vin # though.

ORIGINAL: TCSTD

Why am I so surprised that that vin number , whe you plug it into the HD site for a service check that it comes back "vin not found"

It's a scam.. For some reason they do a lot of these types of scams with Harleys. I've heard of a lot of these. I'll bet they had a paypal account or wanted some other kind of way to grab your cash, then it goes off-shore somehow and your money's gone. The bike doesn't exist.. They just stole the picture from some other auction probably.

Notice the auction has been removed. Ebay is constantly fighting these.

I actually purchased my first Harley via Ebay and I'll tell ya, the way to do it is to find one close to you where you can drive, check it out, buy it and trailer it home. If folks fall for scams like this other auction and wire big money that they can't afford to lose, I can only blame the buyer. However, it's up to us here to expose the crooks.

And remember the old addage.. If it's too good to be true.. It is... Except when you can jump on a set of rineharts for $250. I still love that deal. I pounced like a cat on a little squeekie mouse.. But it could just as easily have been a scam.. A $250 risk I was willing to make. Which is the difference.

Good luck and safe bidding.

Oh yes, seen this several times, usually with high dollar vehicles. Heres the scam.......
1. They steal an ebay listers account and listing.
2. They re-list with home made 'buy it now' (not linked to ebay) icons and specific instructions not to use ebays email system but to contact them privately.
3. The item is yours as long as you can send the cash deposit NOW.
4. Once the famed deposit is sent, you never hear from them again, usually your out $500-$1000

All of these scams are listed from other countries, and usually state FREE SHIPPING !!!!
