my take is that if it is only offered on the CVO, it is not "fully mature technology"
they want a small amount of users to test the system real world, and see how it works: the software/hardware, limits, inputs, sensors.
and THEN if it is good, they will use it down the line in the wider audience range.
IMHO, until they fix the ABS problem on existing bikes, they should hold off on more tech
HD has never been known for cutting edge tech, but stodgy traditionalism.
For other manufacturers, it has been fully mature technology for quite some time. Been around for quite a while. But it does take a lot of time to work out the kinks in any new system. It will take many people actually using harley's version of the tech in many different scenarios and conditions for them to fully understand what issues could come up. You cant replicate everything in the lab or figure everything out with a few test bikes. All manufacturers have to go through this break-in period. But they are not going to do any initial release without being reasonably sure it is safe to use on the bikes. Legal dept would never let them proceed,
Nothing wrong with all the high techs helping hand in a iffy situation is welcome. Anything high tech needs high maintenance every one have choice ride or drive old school or go with the newest technology. If all these bells and whistles save a life IMO it's worth at any cost.
Sounds good anyway. IMHO there is no amount of technology that is going to save you from someone else's stupidity of your own for that matter. If, you happen to be in the path of someone not paying attention , texting, whatever, nothing is going save you. Sure technology can help but is it the soultion to everything ?

Ya know what? Why don't they just make a bike that rides itself for you, then you can stay home & be safe while your bike is out riding itself.
I can see what's gonna happen...coupla years no one will be able to get out of a panic situation because the bike will do everything for you including wipe your dupa after you drop a healthy one. Just part of the plan to make people helpless & dependant. Stupid millenial toolbags can't even drive a stick friggin' shift anymore.
Technology? You can have it. Just thankful for a bike that doesn't leak like a shovel anymore; don't need nuttin' else.
