Fred Flintstone was seen on a forum complaining when they added brake pedals and discs with hydraulically actuated pistons..I don't need any of those dang nanny assistant aids to stop my ride.. A real man uses his feet. What's next? Power steering?

I looked briefly at the H-D feature set description but I didn't see wheelie control explicitly mentioned. I realize the "regular" H-D's are not wheelie prone (an understatement) but I would suspect that the H-D electric bike might wheelie. So, does anyone know about wheelie control being in the feature set? I should be a freebie given that the required wheel speed sensors are already in place for the other features.

I understand some like it, some don’t, but to me personally I think if it saves one life it’s absolutely worth the effort they’ve put into it. Personally coming from an accident 3 weeks ago that should have taken my life with serious head trauma and a broken spine, I would have loved to have something like this on the bike. It was a 2019 Electra Glide Standard that I had for a week and half. Wreck wasn’t my fault, not entirely sure on the details I just remember the bike being sideways facing a mountain and my gf falling or jumping off, then sparks as I saw her rolling toward me and I went down, after that it’s all a blur. Point being though if it saves someone or prevents injuries than it’s well worth the hassle in my opinion.

Well way to go HD on implementation of traction control and ABS which is pretty old tech now. Sport bikes and just about everyone else implemented this long ago.

so, because other mfg's have been using this tech for years, hd should just not add it at all?

you do realize that most of these rdrs systems are transparent to the rider? unless (when) you make a mistake, they will not kick in. so if you want to 'control' your bike, have at it. then when you mess up, the tech will be there to help you.

Other then maybe the vrod, HD doesn't make a bike with enough power to constitute this tech. ABS is fine and dandy in a panicky braking situation, but if you're relying on that all the time, maybe 2 wheels isn't for you.

Yup, the old “if it saves only one life it’s worth it” argument. You realize at this moment there are those using that same argument to ban
motorcycles altigether.

Be careful what you wish for.

I personally think all this auto control is great for new or inexperienced riders. I wanted my RKS without ABS ( but impossible ) I prefer to not have any rider assistance (electronically ).It takes away from the ride experience and control factor which makes it exciting for me at least. When I come too hot into a corner on my litre bike, and I'm hard on the front brake , and my back wheel is (ever so slightly) in the air I do not want some bs electronics taking that control. (excitement) away from me. I personally thrive off the adrenaline rush of the challenges that are involved with the controll needed to ride at my personal limit.
Ofcourse I pick the proper times, and place for such behaviour.

The only system I would want is ABS. Don't want, don't need any of the other high tech nonsense on my motorcycle. I can ride, I know how to start a bike on a hill, I know how to slide one when you lock up the brakes, I don't need something to tell me my tires need air, I check them before ride, I don't need bluetooth nor do I want it, all the pairing of headsets, pairing group of riders to each other is more non-essential crap. If I want to talk to the group, I push my PTT button and my cb allows me to talk for miles, and it was standard on my bike. Don't need nor want to take phone calls when I'm riding, I ride to get away from the phone. I'll call you when I'm stopped via my cell phone.. Nothing that important anyway that can't wait. Don't need GPS either been all over America, Canada and to Alaska and back using nothing but a good old road atlas. Some of the best rides I have been on is when I get lost , that part if the reason I ride, to disappear and relax. Don't need to link to my bike from my phone, I always park it where I can see, it's locked and alarmed, it's not going anywhere. If someone attempts to take it , well God help them. Don't want anyone prying into where I going ,where I've been, how's my riding habits ,etc. All this tech nonsense is just that nonsense, just something to go wrong, add cost to the bottom line of getting a bike, and cost to fix all that crap.If I wanted all the crap on.my bike,I would just drive a my car. Oh by the way, don't wait it there either..

So apparently you've never ridden in the rain. Or on gravel.

I don't personally feel that I need all the added tech, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have its place - even on a "lowly" Harley.
