Default why are some guy trading in the bikes so fast?

i see a lot of touring guys trade in their bikes ever 2-3 years the frame hasn't changed and there was only one motor change in that whole time. so why are people wasting/losing money on trades so much? i saw a post where a guy had 4-5 of the same bike in since 2010. what the hell is the point of that?

Because they can. Because they have the money to lose.

Because they don't want to spend money on maintenance or repairs so they trade a bike in before the warranty is up.

Because they like change.

Why complain? I don't buy new bikes, I like to buy used ones and save a lot of money, so I'm happy that there are people like that out there.

People spending their money the way they want to? That's very odd behavior.

Maybe they want to see if the glitches are fixed yet.

I'd prefer to own a bike that is under warranty or an ESP. I love my bike, but I'm already looking at the next bike. I love the '19 CVO Street Glides. That Black Cherry is an amazing color.

Are you asking because you are curious and really want to know....or was this a passive aggressive shot at folks who are in a financial position to change bikes every coupla years? I'm genuinely curious....what's your angle?

I've seen a lot of comments here about wanting a new color they "had" to have. I'm a grumpy old man that only buys cheap old stuff and have learned to live with any color vehicle. And if it's ugly enough, it's probably a theft deterrent. Also, I don't let other people touch my bikes and that includes dealers, so what good would a warranty be for me. It's been a long time, but I've ignored warranties on both new bikes and cars in the past and fixed them myself so I could rely on them. That attitude came from having warranty work done and then having to fix the warranty work, and from the comments I've seen on this forum, that still happens sometimes.

Maybe because they put tons of miles on them and don't want something that may break down a long way from home

Because it's more convenient than selling the bike outright? Because the dealer treats them right on a clean, low mile trade-in? Because they want a new bike and they're not poor?

I've never had a bike new enough to have a warranty & it's not saying much about the product you are investing in if you think it's going to have problems. IDK, I guess I just dont get it...even if I had money to burn I wouldn't keep losing it on any brand new type of vehicle. They all lose entirely too much the 1st 2-3 years.

As said, because they can afford to. I call it more dollars than sense but if I had bottomless pockets, I would likely do the same. I don't pass judgement and wish I were in their shoes.
