SERT Question......
Anyone having a problem running a SERT on their 2007? Was looking at another forum and saw that only about 20% of SERT owners were happy with the stealer's tune.

Sert is only as good as the person who tunes it. My gave me 76hp and 87 tq and runs like a bear.

had no problem with SERT on either of my bikes. Made a big difference in performance and reducing theheat on my UC.

No joke, but I assume by that reply the dealer might not be needed?
Is this true? I didnt think the SERT was something that could be self installed. Doesnt the ECM need to be programmed or some chit?

RE: SERT Question......
You use the SERT to program the ECM. The SERT is not installed on the bike like a PCIII is. It is only the interface between your computer where the SERT programs reside and the ECM which is your bikes computer. Once you have downloaded a calibration map and possibly tweaked it, or if you have a technician tune it on a dyno, then the little black interface box and cables are removedand canonly be used on your bike from now on.You just store it until you need it again. Nothing is left on the bike.

RE: SERT Question......
OK, so I install the program on a computer, use that computer to download a new map with my new parts take into account? Once I install the program onto my PC, is there a feature in that program to search for my new map? Also, once I interface with my computer, will I be able "join" the SERT and my ECM?
Anyone know of a link to the SERT owners manual?
Im sure anyone interested in a SERT would love to know just what IS up wih installation and intial tune.

Here is a link to the SERT manuals on this forum: https://www.hdforums.com/m_297916/tm.htm
I loaded a canned map on my '07 UC with V&H slip-ons and a AN BS. Used a canned SERT map that was close (since the canned maps are designed for HD add-ons and not aftermarket). Bike ran OK, but after pulling the plugs, noticed it was still running quite lean. Wanted to richen up the AFR to help the heat issue, while increasing the performance. Had it dyno'd with a custom map built, and it performs even better and runs a lot cooler.
on my '06 WG with SE AC and SE IIs, I used a canned SERT map. Bike perfroms well and is not extremely lean.
Have got about 5K miles on both bikes and am pleased with their performance.
