changing trends color and chrome
Some kind of redish/brown color ...the paint was a muted/flat sheen
I understand "beauty is in the eye of..." ...and more power to you if that's your thing
but it seems dull, drab flat black'd out stuff has become trendy these days
(not just bikes, look at wheels and grills on many trucks and SUV's)
as I was polishing the abundance of chrome I love so much , and waxing the deep gloss paint that brings a smile to my face, I was thinking it would be nice if I didn't love shinny sheeit so much .
'cause it would sure be an easier time washing a bike that will never be shinny and looks "pre-dulled" from the get-go
is it generational thing like skinny pants or droopy drawers, flat brims and goofy looking sunglasses?
....not that there's anything wrong with that if that's your thing.(seriously) just not my thing
do you like the dull/flat color look or the shinny sheeit?
and I'm curious, if you like he dull black'd out stuff, are you over or under 50?
and if you like skinny pants or droopy drawers, flat brims and goofy looking sunglasses, I promise I won't make fun of you

Thanks

So if you wish, blast away!!!
or there'd be no doubt what an illiterate I am ..

As an aside, I did see a used RK at a dealer last year that had so much chrome, itd make the sun jealous.
I loved it!

Not a fan of all colors, but the flat colors and the candied colors are nice. I like the candied black and the candied red, I like the flat black, that brick red color and the flat white color.
But both Harley's that I have owned were Black and Chrome. If I ever get a third one it will probably be black and chrome.
My first Harley's had little or no chrome. My '47 Knuckle and my '42 Flathead had painted everything. My '61 sporty had chrome covered shocks, rear fender struts, round aircleaner and handlebars. In those days, it was one of the rare finishes that protected steel from rust where you had a chance for wear. It was tougher than painted finishes.
Paints, powder coatings are probably more durable today and chrome plating is thinner and not as durable due to EPA restrictions on heavy metals and solvents.
Im old school, not by choice, I'd be younger if I had that choice. If I were born in the 90s instead of the 40s, I would embrace today's popular trends, for I would not know better. Life only moves forward, then you get old and your own youth starts creeping back in. So I remain old school, and chrome and shiney new metal flake paint were my cats meow, then, and still are today.
