I pretty much do what uncle kebo does. Change the oil in late fall. Make sure fluids are where they should be, air up the tires. clean if necessary. Full tank of fuel and some stabil. Hook up the battery tender and cover. I park from November 12-20 and bring back out in spring. I have a friend who owns a golf course and he lets me park with the golf carts. His facility is not heated, but is under the club house so the ambient heat from above will "float" down. Temps are always above 50°.
As far as knee replacement, you won't need six months to recover. Had mine replaced in January 2012 and I was ready when March/April came. Just make sure you do your physical therapy, follow doctors orders, and walk. The first two weeks I thought this was the worst thing i had ever done. But kept with therapy, did what they told me, and shortly after I began to wish I had done this 20 years ago!!!
Good luck on your knee(s) and keep hanging around here!!!
