I never really gave it much thought one way or the other until about 4 years ago. Suddenly I fell in love with the look and had to have one. It took awhile to find a deal. They seem to really hold their resale value, probably because there are less out there. I kept my nose to the ground and it paid off. I finally ran up on the one in my signature. It was owned by a retiree that had it, a Goldwing and a hopped up Mustang. Quite the guy, but he had decided the Goldwing was a better fit and put the Springer up for sale. It is a 2007 and had 3400 miles on it. It had never been rode in the rain or washed. Just rode around locally and polished. I got it for about $3K less that the best deal I had found to that point. It is not a bike I would take for long trips but I love riding my Springer.

This was always my dream bike next to a 55 Pan. Too bad I missed out

Don't give up that dream that easily....:-) Used Harley's are going for a song these days. It's a buyers market! A 55 pan might cost a little, but any twin cam can be had for very little money these crazy days!

How bout a link...?

I have a '98 Anniversary Edition Softail Heritage EVO and it's the last bike that I plan to let go......someday.

These bikes are still available for those who are looking but I don't think H-D should "re-introduce" a newer model.

Us older guys aren't likely to be buying many new toys in the future and H-D (in order to survive) must design newer, more technically advanced bikes that will appeal to the younger buyers of the future.

Springers are cool, but they don't sell in great numbers. Niche bike.

I guess the truth is somewhere between "great selling" and "don't sell in great numbers"
