End of the day ts this... Margins... If they have the margins, sales velocity and gross profits they're going to sell armadillos with tank badges...As for the single disc up front, check out a new heritage....
Me I just wish they'd reintroduce the FXSTC.... Also, the Heritage Springer maybe the nicest looking bike ever made in recent times.. THAT is a good looking bike..

+1 on the Heritage Springer...and since there is a definite niche market for the springer, I can see it coming back. Harley has taken a break from the Softail Custom in past years, No reason, once the market isn't so saturated, they wont bring it back into the Softail line. I am seeing relatively low miles Evo Softail Customs going for under $4000.00. And there are companies stripping them out for parts on eBay all the time. I am only speculating here, but Harley may retool the Springer and bring it back someday when enough people begin to miss it. Just my .02
While employed at HD in York Pa, the plant was transitioning from one building to the other (building 4, to the new plant). One day I was walking past the equipment that made the Springer front ends; I was told the entire line was being scrapped.
Several weeks later all the jigs, CNC machines and tooling went to the bone yard.
I later inquired if HD would be coming back with a new line of front ends namely the Springer, and was told the liability of the those front ends was to high. That being said the only way to get a front end such as a Springer would be to buy aftermarket.
