I used to wheel and deal springers...I quit cause they don't sell like they used to...I lost money on the last one I sold..I have enough parts in my garage to put one more together then I am done...
You have a good FX setup laying around? Mine got a little tweaked when I met the jeep a few years back
I remember an ad Polaris/Indian had when they first brought out their version of the Indian Chief. The guy in the ad had a HD Springer he had just polished up and was trading it in on the new Indian Chief. The comments on youtube were hilarious as 99% said what idiot would trade a beautiful HD Springer in on a Polaris Indian. It didn't have the effect Polaris/Indian had hoped.
Would love to see HD bring it back. I see one in the bay area about ones a year.
I love the look of springers, but the truth is it's very old technology that just doesn't perform as well as more modern set ups. Also, pretty much all of HD's markets outside the US now mandate ABS on motorcycles.
I'd like to own one as well and will keep looking, but most motorcycle buyers today want higher tech suspension and ABS brakes.
