Time for another polarizing thread. lol! Why do riders "lower" their motorcycles? Is it about the Look? Because it sure cant be about performance. It may be good for Drag bikes. How do you take a long trip on a lowered motorcycle with two people? Does it ever scrape in the corners?

If stiff and harsh is your thing. I see you have an Evo Softail. I have been told that No amount of Mods will make a Softail "handle"...It was about looks when they designed that bike. I haven't ridden a new one yet. I know Progressive Suspension claims improvement (F&R), but that is subjective at best. If you never ride two up or long trip then you're fine.

Got 2 friends that had no choice but to go with different shorter shocks because of their height. But they went with better progressive shocks and one guy even bought a lower seat too. One bike is a road king and the other is a 76 FLH. Not much you can do with a softail, it's either going to be lower and ride rough and bottom out or be higher and ride decent. I do hear the new ones ride better. I can from the days of ridge frames so anything with shocks rides better in my eyes.
I don't care for the lowering blocks much, better off buying shocks designed to lower the bike.
