well, something changed his mind. Sir,
I am not trying to "screw" you. I have been riding for many years, and have never encountered a hole in an oil tank caused from vibration. Nonetheless, send the oil tank back and we will send you a new one. Please make sure all the oil is drained out and the tank is clean.
Thank you,
Frontiercycle
now im glad he is going to make it right. however, would anyone else be offended by his comments? or is it just me?
here is a photo i just took, its of the underside. look at all the little defects in the chrome. only one is leaking, for now. can anyone see how i may have done this? i cant.

I don't think I'd be offended as much as I'd consider myself lucky that the guy is going to send you a new tank. I received a heater core last year that was obviously crushed "before" it was boxed and shipped (the box was in perfect condition, the core was crushed). They would only refund the cost of the core, and I was out 30.00 for shipping (15.00 both ways).
Ebay (re:cheap crap) is always a crap shoot. I think you got luckier than most this time.[/blockquote]
If you paid on a CC you can dispute, if you paid using PayPal, file a complaint with them, you'll get your money back, they side with the buyer unless they have changed. It can take a few weeks but worth it.
My experience with ebay has never been great, to many sellers trying to scam or selling crap.
i have done 100 or so transactions on ebay, only had troubles with 2. 2% is not bad. also, i never buy anything that costs more than i can loose. people who buy thousands and thousands of dollar items are just nuts! i guess they can afford to loose it.
i do count my self lucky here, i was going to answer his message with a bit of anger towards him hinting that i must have done it, i have not road along time ect. but, i bit my tongue. i have asked him if he would send the tank with 3 day shipping, i would pay for it. he can wait and ship until i get him a tracking number for the old take. im still waiting his response.
Man I hate to hear you got a bad tank on Ebay. I bought a set of heads taken off a new bike recently. Had them sent to the head man. They were real good heads. I was scared something might be wrong with them.
Wish you luck with yer tank dude !
I've never had any problems with the small, personal sellers just the "commercial" sellers on EBay. Every time I've bought something I've had to return it to them. So far only one real jerk about the return/exchange...refused to exchange the item, claimed that it would take up too much of his time. It took filing a dispute claim both with Ebay and PayPal to get my money back.
