Yep, saw that, but it says "may be subject to import duties". I contacted them directly and they wouldn't give me a clear answer. Trying to understand CBP regulations is damn near impossible. So I was curious if anyone had any first hand experience and how much to expect to pay in fees if any. It might out weigh the cost savings.

I do custom clearances daily as this is my line of work and I am telling you $800 is the limit. Pay attention if you buy helmet probably wont be DOT approved.

I know the $800 exemption applies when personally bringing stuff back into the U.S., but are you sure this also applies to goods shipped to you? It's been a while, but I recall paying duties on things shipped in of lesser value.

Few years back it was $200 now they increase it to 800$. Well worst case whats duty rate on helmets I doubt it is over 6% probably. Make sure they dont charge you VAT as this dont apply to export and yes this can be 23%
Anybody bought a helmet from Chromeburner? If so, did you have to pay import/customs fees?
Hey Dk There should be no duty/import fees on a helmets from the Neatherlands, weather it be a $200 or a $1000 helmet. Wifes been doing Export compliance licencing for 20yrs and looked up helmets and the HTS codes show no Duty rates. You should be GTG
