Went out at midnight, to get my daughter the new Harry Potter book. She just stoped by the computer room ,to read the part about a flying motorbike to me.
Think I might actually like tosee that in a movie, how bout u guy's?
The 1/2 giant Hagrid had a motorcycle that was bewitched to fly. He held onto it when Harry Potters uncle (god uncle really) Sirius Black was imprisoned. It was rightfully his. I could believe that it makes a comback because Harry would be next in line for succession if it were a real item..
I freely admit I am not to much of a biker badazz to read/watch Harry Potter. I like comic books too. Gotta problem with it?!
Who is Harry Potter? Is he a forum member? I know there are a lot of performance parts but the aerodynamics involved in flight are pretty complex, not sure you could get a bike off the ground. Although on the other hand, with a redirected intake system ,vectored exhaust nozzles and a modified fairing system, maybe Birnelli's principle could be brought into play. Of course then the issue of "controlled" flight would have to be overcome. A basic rudder/elevator/aileron set up could possibly be engineered to provided intended directional movement. As we all know, concept aircraft must have documented records concerning design and production, meaning that a FAA recognized engineering firm must submit the plans and blueprints stating construction timelines and materials. Then you have to prove that a licensed Airframes & Powerplant mechanic actually had oversight responsibility for all phases of construction. Guys, this is starting to look like an expensive project, I suppose we could start a fund similar to Dynamikes "Sturgis" fund or Ultrarick's request for a new bike but then we'd probably end up having to fly the new contraption around the country to give "sponsor" rides to everyone. But let it not be said that innovation was stalled by a few minor details, great ideas, once put in motion can't be stiffled. Press on!
I went and saw the HP movies - IMHO..the latest one was just like the rest - okay, but not exciting..yada yada...but now that you mention this ..HP has a flying bike...here's the plot that would get me to see the next flick -
Harry's teenage girl friend turns 18, and "gits nekid" on the back of his ride- gosh- did he trade in the Nimbus 2K for it?
Fine by me, but in a few weeks I dont wanna see a link to an article saying
harry potter is not really a pilot or that they used wires to make the motorbike fly.
