Yeah H-D dealers are becoming part of the auto dealer monopolies in any given area. i though monopolies went away in the 80's? It seems funny how things are reverting back to being crooked.

Which means all dealers will eventually be managed and priced the same. Motorcycle prices are fixed no matter what dealer you go to.
Buy outs eliminates the competition. The remaining dealers are set with a fixed price, no negotiation..
Kind of like the Tesla model, dealers are all owned by Tesla. IIRC, Tesla got in trouble with franchise laws that requires car dealers to be independently owned. Factory direct dealers are illegal..or something like that.

I doubt there was a Harley dealer with hundreds of miles in any direction.
I-70 through western Kansas and eastern Colorado is... well, awful isn't it?

I sure hope so, but I haven't heard that. It's a nice building right off I-70.

What I remember most about that stretch of I70 was the wind. There was a constant wind that hit me slightly from the side which meant I was leaning the bike into the wind for hours. The night I spent in Colby did cause me to feel isolated, but I liked the town of Colby. I had a nice dinner in a Chinese restaurant and bought a shirt in a store in the same strip mall. And then there were all those signs about Colby being where opera singer Samuel Ramey grew up. I have enjoyed listening to him sing both live and on recordings. For that reason alone I had positive feelings about Colby. They gave the world a wonderful opera singer. I read up on the history of the town while there and had great respect for the original settlers of the town and the hardships they had to endure.

It's only going to get worse... Motorcycle industry in general is a dying hobby... I have 4 HD Dealers within 30 miles of my home. I'm wondering how long all 4 are going to be able to stay in business.
