[QUOTE=shaggieshapiro;19071129]If I were a mod I would ban all these idiots who make stupid posts like this.
why do you participate in it? No one makes you open the thread. No one makes you read post after post after post. No one makes you comment. Just because you are uninformed and ignorant on a subject. The only thing you got is to call names and say you would ban them. Take your ball and go home then. Come back after you hit the weights and can play ball.

i clogged my toilet which means that my house is going into foreclosure next week. If you want to **** on Harley do it on another site. This is a forum about people who love, live and breathe Harleys
Losses of sales. Losses of revenues. Have you even looked at their quarterly reports? The main reason their stock is a third of what it was 5 years ago is because they're not selling bikes like they used to.
It's not rocket surgery. If a manufacturer doesn't increase its sales, its stock drops. This is Wall St. 101.
Whether or not Harley's profitable is up for discussion, simply by defining "profitable". Based on their share price, no, it's not profitable. But do they stay out of the red? Ask their accountants because dropping stock prices don't always mean a company is profitable. Neither does EPS, or YOY revenues... You really gotta dig deep into the financials to see if a company is profitable.
man I basically said the same thing above. They might be operating in a profit but that doesnt warrant a reason to buy. These guys are so blinded by that stupid badge they see nothing else. The stock price has dropped like a rock. There is absolutely no confidence in the company.I spend my money and use my time looking into companies to buy into in the hopes of making a few bucks. I also let a professional invest some of my company retirement. Neither one of us buys stock in Harley. The moment they do I will drop them. There is no gains to be had in Harley. They pay a nice dividend. I will give that to them. However that will be in danger after they bleed through cash like everyone else. There is no upside to it. I wouldnt even want to try and make a short play in to it and try to get a quick buck. 10k in Harley or 10kin Tesla orJNJ Apple. We will see who makes more in a month/6 month/. 5 years.........

again you aint got nothing to say that resembles a logical coherent thought. Take your ball and go home. You havent lifted enough to play with the big boys.If you think for one second that Harleys problem in there stock price (what we are talking about, not if we enjoy their bikes or not) is equivalent to a clogged toilet than you have no idea about financial matters. Listen if you want to throw your money away and invest in Harley cause you want to love eat sleep make sweet passionate love to them than be my guest. But if you do make sure you put a lot of money in there, not just a hundred bucks.Put up 10k. Listen no one is crapping on Harley, facts are facts though. If you are not grown up enough to deal with them then look other way and put your money where your mouth is.
Gross Revenue less Business Expenses equals Net Profit... Net Profit (How the tax man sees you) has little to do with Actual Profit (How the business owner sees himself)... the larger the company, the more that line gets blurred... and then there is how The Bank sees you... which is fundamentally different than the above two... and if your a small business, well, they dont seeyou at all.

Let me help. Here's the essence of the kind of post we really need when discussing all things Harlie ...
only problem is that some of us don't have 'long term' to wait until we planned on withdrawing it to live off of.
i'm pretty risky with my investments....and by risky, I'm as risky as my money guy can stomach
I've lost 6 points since when this all started
investing is a long term strategy, but your money guy should be mitigating your risk as you near the end of your plan, in other words, if you needed the money now, it shouldn't have been in a place where you got hosed by all of this....honestly this is severe enough that even low risk/low yield investments are tanking, but again, you shouldn't be getting bent over right now
A problem I see here is that sales have been bolstered by financing bikes for people with poor credit. A lot of those loans are probably going to go into default. HD is going to be writing off nonperforming loans for a few months and longer term it's probably not going to be good business to continue to lend money to people with risky credit, which means fewer sales.
After the last downturn sales dropped and continued to slide from that point. I think we'll see the same thing happen again.
Liking Harley-Davidson motorcycles, which I and everyone here does, is different than liking the H-D MoCo or its stock.
Despite my affection for the brand and the many, many memories their bikes have brought me over my lifetime, I have less faith in their new machines than I have had in any period since AMF and less confidence in the company's desire to help me as a (long term loyal) consumer should things go wrong with a bike. I used to have a couple BMWs and really tried to like them ... pero no mas! There was a time when the MoCo was passionate about their products and their customers. Dealerships were owned and operated by enthusiast who took good care of us and our bikes. There was a time when the H-D MoCo was a better company than they are today.
HOG will post earnings before tomorrow's open; analysts say $.50-ish/share - down almost half. Who knows, the stock may even go up a little if the dreaded earnings reports beats analysts dismal predictions. Welcome to the largest casino in the world.
Is Harley going to make it or will Harley finally die?
I am not trying to stir the pot with this question as it is an honest question to all of you who have had Harleys for many years. I bought a 2019 Tri Glide in February and now it seems every other day a dealership is closing their doors. From what I have read, it appears that Harley is also in a bad financial position right now and has been losing ground for the past few years. I had a 2009 Ultra Classic but sold it in 2016 so it has been four years since I really paid much attention to Harley businesses. What do you all think? Is Harley going to be around in two or three years or will the financial situation be too much for them to navigate and hence force bankruptcy? Hoping for the best but worried. Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.
