If you are happy with the deal go for it. I have a 19 Road Glide and you will be amazed of the handling and power of the bike. I say go for it and maybe a little more negotiating wouldn't hurt.
I had a ‘13 FLHX with 103 stage 1, great bike, no problems and truly enjoyed riding it. Kept on coming back to the road glide and the numbers worked for me so I traded. I couldn’t be happier and the road glide special is still stock.
The good: stock 114” Milwaukee 8 has noticeably more power than my TC 103” with stage one, the handling is awesome on the road glide and the bike is super comfortable. Not that the street glide was lacking in any of these (well maybe stock suspension IMO), but I just prefer the new road glide in all aspects.
The bad: stock exhaust sounds bad lol (waiting on parts), black is impossible to keep spotless, and while this is just my opinion, I find there’s more airflow around me behind the shark nose than the batwing. It’s not bad or uncomfortable, just noticeable on +5 deg Celsius morning rides. Probably just because the shark nose is a little further away than the bat wing. Again not complaining, just saying it’s noticeable on chilly early morning rides. Also, the stock handlebars suck, they’re like pushing a wheel barrow lol.
Just my 2 cents, but I much prefer the 2020 over my 2013.
Nothing wrong with either option. If you like long distance trips the newer bike is the best option in my opinion. Ride, handling, power, stereo, room and comfort are all much improved.
The way I see it if it were me. I have more power than a new one. My exhaust and tune are better. My suspension is better. I've had my seat done at MCC so it's more comfortable. I have (Garmin) Nav...if needed. My lights are better. My stereo and speakers are better. I like the colors of my bike better. It's paid for. I only have 46,000 miles on it because the Navy has kept me busy the last 24 years so there is a lot more life in it when I retire next year!
