Default Best Lightweight Kevlar/mesh jacket (or shirt) Option?

I know many on here ride without a jacket in the warmer months, and I do too sometimes, but I prefer to wear a jacket when possible. I have a Field Sheer mesh jacket that's over 10 years old, but its pretty heavy for mesh and can get hot in mid 80's - lower 90's temps. I found that Bohn Armor makes 2- different riding shirts with armor in the elbow/shoulder/back and are very lightweight, but they look like they are stretchy and don't really provide abrasion resistance, but still are better than a t-shirt alone. Does anyone make something like a single layer mesh jacket that offers some protection, but is very light and good when temps are in the upper 80's or 90's and don't look like "Ricky racer" sportbike gear?

I am a strong proponent of AGATT I am the guy riding in 90 degree weather with a full faced helmet

The leather jacket I wear in NH does not work very well in Florida.

I have a Joe Rocket mesh jacket that is very light weight and well armored, and a Cortech that is more textile than mesh, it has lots of ventilation with very good armor on the elbows and shoulders with a full back protector.

Both have liners and rain liners that zip in and out.... trust me in Florida it is nice to have that rain liner option.

IMHO you can't go wrong with a Cortech jacket and they are reasonably priced. Plus they have Hi Viz inserts that get you noticed. When I am on my crotch rocket at night, it is very hard to see from behind, the Hi Viz reflective surfaces helps keep Grandma from taking me out (I hope)

The Hi Viz is not as much of a concern on the baggers as they have Custom Dynamics lighting and are easily seen from any angle

I know you are not looking for the Power Rangers look, so Cortech also makes stuff that is not as bright as far as coloring

try this:
Amazon Amazon

If you want Kevlar and not some other polyester mesh, you need Motoport

I am about to go out riding in hot and humid weather wearing a full face helmet and a Klim mesh jacket, the Induction, and I find it pretty comfortable. It's not a lightweight jacket but has armor in the back, shoulders and elbows. It flows a lot of air when moving and if I take out the back armor I don't tend to sweat too much more than not having the jacket on. Pretty decent abrasion resistance but doesn't even pretend to repel water.

I also have an armored shirt which is basically some spandex like material that holds the armor in place. I wear that under a motocross shirt when I'm dual sporting in the summer months. It doesn't offer much abrasion resistance but has level 2 armor for impact protection. It's also very breathable but I still sweat a ton when dual sporting. I don't really wear this getup when riding the Harley.

If you are going to get something, get a light color. It really helps keep the temps down in the summer.

Yep, that Motoport "shirt" seems tobe exactly what I'm looking for. But damn, they are not cheap!

You're not kidding about the price, holy heck! Still cheaper than the tattoo I'm getting on my arm though... I'm looking for something too and I came across this video on Youtube. Recently, the temps have been too hot my my leather and I wear ATGATT, head to toe, but the last few rides, I've stripped and put on sun block instead. I can't handle 106 deg temps in leather, even moving.

I have a Tour Master Intake jacket I have been wearing for 4 or 5 years now. With it's rain and thermal liner I use it pretty much year round here in the Washington DC area.

The current version is the Intake 5.0

If you get the all black one or the Black and gray it's not too power ranger looking.
