Default RDRS in future cruisers?

Anyone care to opine on whether 2021 might bring Harley's Reflex Defensive Rider Systems to its cruisers as an option? Or if that ever might happen?

Harley already offers that as a 1K option in most 2020 cruisers. so are you asking if it will come as a standard option?

This was an option on the "touring" platform, not the softail platform

As KK said, I don't think it's available on softails. The sad truth is, based on dealer inventory around me, I think I'm going to wait for 2021 models -- and just hoped that there might be a RDRS side-benefit for waiting.

I stand corrected, I was not thinking of the softail models, just the touring models.

Probably, Harley likes to introduce the new stuff on touring platform first, then trickle down to the other models

I'd be surprised if RDRS didn't show up on other models sooner rather than later.

That's generally what happens with Harley, new features are introduced on the touring models and filter down to other models within a year or two.

I agree with others and feel the RDRS will come out as an option for cruisers since things like that usually filter down from touring bikes within 1-2 years

I’m surprised it’s even an option. Normally the tech needs to be at least 10 years old before it shows up on a Harley platform 🤣

I would believe that if not that the modernization of the Softtail line pretty much leapt ahead of the tour bikes. From a much more advance frame and suspension to full LED lighting and more. If anything I have been wonder why even the simplest features like full LED lighting have been kept from the tour line. It does smack of an overhaul just waiting in the wings. Still to your point, the reason it landed on the tour bikes first is because the transaction cost associated with tour models is so much higher than the Softtail line that buyers would not notice it as much. You can roll in $995 on a 25k bike far easier than a 15K bike and to be honest they are still over charging for it. It is a feature found on bikes as low as 10k from other makers. However Harley is not alone in over pricing it, look at Indian whose similar feature is consigned to only the top end Challenger models which are 6k higher than the base models.

RDRS should be baked in on any motorcycle Harley sells that has ABS which should be all of them. They want to be a Premium brand, well earn it, set the standard that others are measured by.
