I normally ride where traffic isn't that thick, they can use the other lane. If they are in that big of a hurry they can use the ditch.

I take the view I prefer you to carry on riding your ride, rather than confuse me by changing how you're riding and start waving at me. When and how other road users overtake is their decision to make. If they're quick, they'll know how to overtake. It's rarely that frustrating and I reckon people in front worry about it more than those preparing to overtake.

I hate it when some car drivers try to be helpful by moving to the inside of the lane, then kick up loads of debris off the side of the road. Only being helpful, but better if they just drove normally.

Last ride, on a 2 lane stretch, a truck driver helpfully put his indicator on to signal we could overtake. My mate in front of me eased towards the centre of the road, to check before he went, to find a fast car heading towards him. Luckily, neither of us trust other drivers or riders. I will overtake when I'm ready, whether you wave me past or not. Best to do nothing surprising and let the other rider, ride their ride.

Describes my riding style also. On the occasion someone does come up on me I wave them on. It’s nice to have a rabbit out front.

Not too long ago, I was riding down I-25, not going too fast, maybe 5 or 10 over. In my mirror I see a sportbike closing in on me fast. He got about to where I figure he could see my patch, hit the brakes hard. He maintained about 30 meters behind me. Shortly after that, another sportbike guy came blasting past both of us. The first one went around and caught up with. It looked like he was chewing him out, then they both slowed down and let me pass. I found it a bit amusing as we are not 1%, though we are 3PP.

I give them the opportunity, but it's up to them when or if they take it.

Highway etiquette is to not pass another bike in the same lane.

What's nice is that in Texas, pulling to the right and allowing someone to pass in your lane is legal. I tend to poke along at my own pace, not dropping below the speed limit but definitely not whizzing down the road.

Owning older iron makes the riding that much more enjoyable when maintsining correct speeds with stock/close to stock bikes.

Cali allows for lane splitting so I will pull to the right of my lane if someone cares to pass as long as the road is straight and not on a hill or a curve.

In my world, it is called common courtesy. I ride my own ride and if somebody wants to go faster, I see no reason to block them from doing so but to each their own.

As long as it's safe, I'll pull aside, and wave them by. Better than having them sitting on my ***, cause they're in such a hurry, and it has never bothered me if someone wants to go faster than me, even if I'm already rolling well over the limit. Unlike some people who get their panties in a twist over it.

Cheers!

Not a true story. Courtesy pull over to right is illegal in TX but is part of the culture. Got in a deal down there and DPS explained it to me. Not only that, if there is any kind of accident, the party that pulled over will be held responsible no matter the cause.

Flame away but that’s directly from a DPS officer
