Some Livewires recalled due to software glitch. This affects about half of the 45 Livewires sold to date [Nevermind, I just made up that number, its BS - but the recall is true!]
"It is estimated that some 1,012 bikes have been affected by the recall."
They also said that only some of the bikes manufactured have the issue, and listed the date range between 9/19 and 3/20.
Sounds like it's possible the LiveWire is selling a hell of a lot better than many people thought it would. If those numbers are accurate, the LiveWire division has probably gotten gross sales dollars of at least $30 million, on par with Zero's entire 9-bike lineup (listed as $34 million on ZoomInfo). And Zero's been around for 14 years, this is LiveWire's first year.
Not huge revenues for a Harley, of course, but seems like respectable numbers for an electric bike.
The update done by my dealer took slightly under 90 seconds from plugging in the USB until up and running again. Hugely easier than, say, the days of changing carb jets and adjusting ignition points :-)

so in 7 years they will be halfway to the break even point when they will have to drop the product from the line because of poor sales

Totally relevant because HD hasnt used carb jets in over 15 years and points in over 40 years
You know I got in my car yesterday and it told me it needed to do an update. I started the process and it has to be in an off state. I drove to my first sales call, started the update and when I came out the process was finished and I was off and rolling again. For the money on a live wire why doesnt it simply download and go?
