No H2O - I'm thinking maybe you got a poor product?
I got the one for the sidewalls. Maybe it's a different chemical formula than a tread marker. I got mine at an AutoZone and I put it on May 30th. It's still on after many washings and rain riding. Granted, the AutoZone marker was 3x the price from online. I did the prep, which was roughing up the surface to be colored.
I thought a thin red line would look good on a red bike.
