Default iPhone 12 issues with CarPlay?

Thinking of getting an iPhone 12. Anyone experience any issues with it playing on the HD CarPlay? I went through that hell with my iPhone 11 until HD finally did an update on their software so I'm wondering if I would have the same problem with the 12.

Yes. Iphone 12 or iPhones with latest iOS do not work for audio calls in HD Boom. (Even with WHIM and the HD DSena headset). U can hear text messages but not phone calls, and no voice commands go from headeset to boom/phone.

Good. Maybe folks can get back to riding motorcycles instead of playing with phones......

Or maybe actually provide a response which helps. Some of us have work that requires phone so need connectivity , even when we ride. And for some it’s just comfort.
Didn’t realize there are ‘rules’ to what riding means. Let whoever owns a motorcycle decide what they want to do with it or while on it I guess.

Riding safely and being situationally aware is more important than playing with toys. Missing a call or text ain't worth crashing your bike.

It just depends what your acceptable level of risk is. If you're the type of guy that drinks a six pack and the jumps on your bike it might be fine for you.
Distracted riding is more dangerous than buzzed riding according to the experts. Just be careful whatever you do.

I prefer the apple car play for google maps navigation. HD navigation looks like a Garmin GPS from 20 years ago. Also like car play for my apple music play lists. Makes the infotainment system actually usable.

Same here, but iPhone 12 Mini. Worked with my iPhone XS as well.
