Finding the Horn Button
However if you remain aware of your surroundings, possibly even anticipate cage driver's reactions to stimuli affecting them, a horn can sometimes prevent bad things from happening.
For example:
When approaching a side street, driveway, or parking lot from which a cage is waiting to pull out; the noise offered by a horn may alert the cage driver of your presence
and prevent them from pulling out. Or it sometimes can help prevent the dreaded left turn it front of a scooter.
Or at times when, due to traffic, you find yourself trapped in a 'blind spot' a horn may alert the cage driver to your presence.
Of course any cage driver's reactions are really just to prevent them from receiving criminal or civil penalties. But sometimes that helps.
These examples are all based on the logic that sometimes cage drivers can look us the eye and not realize we are there, but they may hear us.
At least that has been my experience in over 50 years of daily, year around, driving.
No I haven't driven daily, year around, for 50 years, but most of my driving during that period has been on 2 wheels. A benefit of living in the desert.

You romantic, you.
For some reason, I find it difficult to locate the horn button without "eyeballing" it. Must be an old age thing. As a former pilot, *****, switches, trim tabs, controls, etc were easy to find....repetition, muscle memory and practice. Since I rarely use my horn, it's difficult to find in an instant. Therefore, I created a hack to help locate the general area of the horn button. See pic below. It's essentially a small round piece of plastic attached with two sided tape. I used a paper hold punch to get the exact size. Not sure how long it will last, hopefully long enough to develop muscle memory. Very similar to what manufacturers do to identify the F and J keys on a keyboard (little raised dashes).

GREAT post!!
I go for muscle memory as you mentioned. But oddly STILL have to regularly practice going for the horn. Must be working since the last 2 times I needed the horn, the auto response (muscle memory) worked WELL.
I may very well get 1 of "them there" buttons.
Also sending this to a few friends I know that may like it.
