Problem with exotic colors like this is they only look good when the vehicle is brand new. Get a little age on them and they look like crap.
as far as vehicles paint color names, the same can go for people. I know a really hot chick, but she has an old lady's name, and I think if she had a hot chick name she would have been a little more attractive at least to me.
of course I would have hit it if she wasn't married anyway.
this doesn't happen very often, but I agree with Dickey.
Those color shift paints were all the rage about 15 years ago, but are now pretty silly-looking in my opinion. And those asymmetrical graphics don't sit well with me either.
WOW people seem to still like my silly 15-year-old shift color Harley paint. It's still in perfect condition and in the sun it's beautiful.

In an ocean full of denim, blackout, and stealth bikes, yours is definitely one Id stop and check out in the lineup.
My opinion of the 2021 colors has changed after seeing several of them at various dealers. Im not saying Id want some of them, but they look markedly different from what is seen on a web page. H-D cant win the game of pleasing a majority of current or previous owners. I believe this doesnt figure heavily into their planning and color selections for a model year. I have no way of knowing how they do it.
As for exotic or unusual paint sets, the old saw about beauty being in the eye of the beholder is reliable as ever. Snake Venom will look just fine in 10 years to the man who loves it and maintains it. Thats the only thing that matters to most of us. We dont select a paint or style of bike with the objective of impressing someone other than ourselves.
I think paint color names are a given in the auto industry. I mean my 16 Camaro paint color name is "Hyper Metallic Blue"... I don't think it's just the MoCo that tries to come up with fancy names. I think the people who care would be less then .001%.. If any at all.
I think where the name makes the difference is in the first impression. I'll admit that when I was first seeing the new lineup, the name "Snake Venom" definitely piqued my interest and I had to see what it was all about. Once I saw it, I was a bit underwhelmed and the asymmetrical "1" definitely is not my thing. So while the "name" may not be a deal closer for the vast majority, it certainly can open the door and those that like the paint will stick around and possibly get across the finish line. Color is so subjective. Marketing...marketing...marketing.
Its a color thats not for everyone but let's face facts. All H-D has to do is put their logo on something, overprice it and someone will buy it. I truly believe if they could get chrome to stick to a turd and put a bar and shield logo on it they wouldn't be able to keep them in stock. I'd like to see the snake venom in person. I think I'd like it but not enough to buy it.
A canadian dealer in New brunswick has a Snake Venom Road glide ,it looks nice if you're into Green.I'm old school black and chrome. https://fb.watch/3NosMSvd38/
so typical of the harley design team. Take something from 25 years ago and attempt to be cutting edge.
That said, it was played out in the early 2000's, every other "custom" (car or bike) was using flip flop paint but there's a new crop of enthusiasts that this is new for
Sort of like Gloss Black, Didn't Henry Ford come out with that in 1903? Been being used and sold ever since.
Things come into style for a while then go out for a while then come back, happens with clothes, hair cuts colors and so on.

Saw Snake Venom yesterday in the sun for the first time. The colors look really good and I'm not a big green fan. The 1 is interesting as some times its white and black, others I see red, white and blue. I definitely like it.
Paint shift is from the 2000's, blend with the asymmetrical from the last few years, it seems to work. Some will hate it, some will criticize the effort, or say no effort at all. Then again, Black is so 1903. I do like it, and did not think I would.
