Not a chance in my case. What I was trying to convey is that paint names DO matter, and it's why H-D tries to give cool (?) names to various paint colors. You won't ever see 'Pale Linen' or 'Blue Tranquility' simply because they don't convey HARLEY to buyers. 'Snake Venom' does, and for a number of buyers it will be enough to 1) get their attention, and 2) help sell the paint. And yes...there are going to be those few who probably wouldn't buy that color, but the name will tip the scales.

If I'm being honest I doubt anyone cares about the name of a paint color when they buy any vehicle. I have no idea why you would. It would be to me no different then not buying a car because you didn't like the model name. I don't know. If you loved a bike or a car and then found out the name of the paint and decided you couldn't buy it because of the name?? Well... . I don't think I could name one Harley paint color besides Vivid Black... (and now Snake Venom)

They (some) care, and Harley knows it....that's why they go to the pains they do to give imaginative and descriptive names to their colors. It might be a 3 or 5 percent thing, but H-D marketing knows it makes a difference.

"I have no idea why you would'. And once again for the record and as I said previously....I personally would never buy a bike to get a paint name, or because of a paint name.

I hear ya.. I'm not saying you would...

I think paint color names are a given in the auto industry. I mean my 16 Camaro paint color name is "Hyper Metallic Blue"... I don't think it's just the MoCo that tries to come up with fancy names. I think the people who care would be less then .001%.. If any at all.

I have a deposit placed to get first dibs on a blacked out Road Glide Special in snake venom. The #1 on the fairing looks like shark gills ///. With lowers, full size tour pack, handle bar replacement and a 21" up front, that should be a show bike. Plus, I'm going to do the Stage IV 131 option this year. While I love vivid black, I don't like the swirl marks. Then again, if the snake venom looks cheesy, I'll have to find a used 2020 CVO Road Glide.

I personally believe the SV paint will be an easy sell, as it’s going to look a lot more colorful and intense on a real bike at the dealership. Now whether that color endures and has more lasting appeal...remains to be seen. Anyway, like it or hate it, I’ll give some credit to HD for shaking it up a bit. Part of this whole deal is about taking chances and going against convention.

so typical of the harley design team. Take something from 25 years ago and attempt to be cutting edge.

That said, it was played out in the early 2000's, every other "custom" (car or bike) was using flip flop paint but there's a new crop of enthusiasts that this is new for
