technically, isn't every bike for that model year an anniversary bike for that year...of sorts
:P
Sure, so we have 118th Harley Anniversary, 80th Anniversary of the FL, 64th Anniversary of the Sportster, 30th Anniversary of the Superglide, 4th Anniversary of the M8, 3rd Anniversary of the new Softail lineup.
Maybe they'll bring it back! I wont hold my breath though.
Sure they'll bring it back. It will be one of the new era softails, and they won't understand why people who know Harley history aren't excited about it.
Although we've owned several Anniversary year bikes I've only owned one true Anniversary Edition bike (my '98 Heritage Softail Springer).
I didn't order the bike, it sort of "fell in my hands" on a fluke.
The guy that ordered if changed his mind and the salesman remembered that I had told him how much I liked the Heritage Springers and called my house in the middle of the week and talked to my wife.
I was hesitant about buying, what would be a 4th bike in the garage but my wife said that if I didn't buy it she would!
It's still in my garage with less than 10,000 miles on the odometer.
The good vs the bad thing about any Anniversary bike is that there's no question about what model year it is (for those who keep up with this stuff) indentifiable by the color combos and sometimes they come in gawdy colors.
We ordered and bought an '03 Road King (hardbag in Ruby Red) as my wife didn't like the selection of A/E colors and I "badged" it with every A/E option and if you didn't know what the A/E colors were for the 100th you would not have been able to tell it wasn't an A/E/ bike.
Saddest part about that bike was that after we'd spent thousands of dollars in accessories, once it was complete and ready to ride, she rode it 11 miles and got off of it and said "you can have it, I lke my Heritage better"!
I have, and will probably at least twice more, lost more money on a motorcycle but that one sat in the garage and we finally decided to sell it (in '17 I think) with 295 miles on the odometer!
The only two good things about it was that we did get "top dollar: for it and one of her friends husband got it!
Sure, so we have 118th Harley Anniversary, 80th Anniversary of the FL, 64th Anniversary of the Sportster, 30th Anniversary of the Superglide, 4th Anniversary of the M8, 3rd Anniversary of the new Softail lineup.
Special paint for everyone.
My choice woule be the Super-Glide 30th. Very nostalgic look of the '71, That was the H-D that first grabbed my attention!
It is actually a 35th anniversary edition, and if they come out with the 50th, my
35th will be for sale.
Love the red, white and blue paint with the #1 logo on the tank!!!
