88 electra glide classic
i am having a problem with the tach & radio on a 88 electra glide classic.the tach goes to 5 or 6 grand when the engine is still at 2 or 3 grand, and the radio pops & crackles. the volume control stops working & the screen on the radio goes off. if you turn the key off & back on, everthings fine until you start the engine again & run the bike.the charging system was overcharging so the voltage regulater was replaced.all grounds & hot wires seem to be good.does anybody have any ideas before i spend a bunch of time tracing down the wiring?

Might be a ground, I had a similar problem with the radio/8-track player on my KZ1000, turned out to be a ground. Good luck.
