Road names, the real deal you end up with because it was hung on you by your buddies or brothers for any number reasons, sometimes not very glamorous or flattering ones. Basically you earn it somehow

Little punks making up their own to sound macho is just wanna-be's play acting bad boy. And I agree, you can tell who's who and it's funny and sad at the same time.
Believe me, I did not name myself "Uncle Peepers."

Dude, you're "Dave" - the guy from the parts counter. You are not "Bruiser" just because you ride a V-star 4 hours a month on the weekends. You're not even 160lbs...

It's the most "Wild Hogs" thing ever and that's not a good thing.
Is Teal your actual name?

I've went by a nickname since high school my friends hung on me and there aren't a lot of people I've known in the last 40+ years that even know my name. As a bonus, it makes it hard for someone to ID you.

BTW, My name isn't Fred, it's just a screen name. Not that it matters.

I think it should apply to a bike of that era. One of my rides is a 2008 Crossbones.....designed by Willie G. I left the collection on the bike as not doing so seemed at odds with the spirit of the bike. I do agree, this theme on later bikes seems a bit tired...

Wow, don't usually get involved in these types of discussions because it is usually just a lot of different opinions on a subject and everyone is entitled to theirs. That being said, I can't believe some of the comments. I mean just pure hate for skulls or live to ride, ride to live etc. to the point you are embarrassed to be around someone with them. I don't have a skull on my bike, but I have loved skulls since I was a kid. All types, from pirate flags to six flags skull island. My bike did come with live to ride, ride to live primary cover with flames. It is still there. Care less if it is still in style or you think I am a wannabe for leaving it on there or you would be embarrassed to have it on your bike. I have a Harley metal sign on my shed with a skull on it. I just think it looks cool. Anyway, I will probably get slammed for this, but it is just my opinion. In fact, I typed this out and almost just deleted it right after, but what the hell. I have not posted in a while. It just struck a cord with me how most are to each their own, but some feel they have to make you feel like you are not worthy to even be on the road if they disagree with your style or opinion. Anyone on this forum is welcome to holler at me when in my neck of the woods to meet up. Don't care what kind of motorcycle you are riding or what you have on it. Just glad you are out there riding.
