Shovelhead hates horns, it's tossed all but one I've hung on her the last 39 years, had to have gone through a 1/2 dozen or so. Aside from that, nope nothing else.
Had a bud with a backyard built 52 pan that rode with a couple of us from KC to Colorado Springs for a 2 week trip. The entire trip was one constant game of what's coming off or breaking next on that bike, it finally gave up the ghost 250mi. from home. He got to tent it till we got back with the van to get him. I kid you not we used a whole roll of duct tape rigging things back on the bike, every light cover on it popped off at least twice.
I've lost a few things here and there. What I really hate is hearing something come loose clank on a couple things and then go ting ting on the road behind you, you pull over but can't find anything missing.
I was on I-95 and felt a 'thunk' on my left foot, I glanced down and my shifter pedal was on my boot. I moved to the right lane and realized I was at the exit for the nearest dealership so I coasted to the exit in 6th, fortunately the traffic light was red. Switched off the bike, grabbed the foot pedal and put the bike into neutral with my hand, started the bike, held in the clutch and put it into second gear and rode to the dealership. They put it back on for me and I went off riding with friends.
The next day it fell off again at the exact same place on the interstate and again landed on my boot, repeated the above and told them to use red loctite this time.
Lost the shifter on my 77 super glide going down the long grade into Osoyoos BC but found it a few minutes later. Just about lost my left foot, hit a bent over flat steel road marker in the grass, tore off the foot peg / primary case inspection plate on the 77 super glide. Had to get a new primary case and got a nice shiny new one in Winchester VA.
Kawasaki Vulcan 750, mounting nut and washers, for my Hellfire windshield fell off. I actually found them. Thats when I discovered blue thread locker.
My Ultra, I put Kuryakyn passenger pegs on. The extra weight caused the grade 8 tge bolt to shear off and I lost my passenger peg. I also had a knurled thumbscrew seat bolt that my Indy (former Indy, after that) didnt tighten enough, so my seat wiggled a bit, which is not a good feeling when youre turning.
I use a 20 mm bolt now to hold the seat on.
