Same bike several facelifts and engine growth spurts later. We've been round the country a time or two together over the years.

A beauty of a shovel. U say a few face lifts. Its had more face lifts than Dolly Pardon and Kenny Rogers combined. Lol Between the two pics, what do they have in common? Engine, other than the mods, trans and possibly the tanks?

I remember once upon a time one of the reasons you bought a Harley was for it's infinite rebuildibility.

Not a lot actually Been extensively gone over and through several times. Even the tranny gearing has changed. Tanks are later flat side rubber mounts, got tired of breaking tabs and cracking seams on the old ones. LONG list of stuff got changed or tweaked.

Started life as a bare frame an, engine about 5 crates of stuff at a swap meet. Survived a house fire during the build and the hardtail there was what I could cobble together from donations and bud's junk piles just to get rolling.

I tend to gather stuff over time from swaps, bargain hunting and blind luck stumbling across a screaming deal and stash things away, then get busy and several weeks later another version of the bike rolls out of the garage. As she sit's in the silver is the longest I've left her alone. Still do odd mechanical tweaks changing or adding something but the basic look has stayed.

My younger days I rode the blue **** outa that bike, one 2 year stretch when I first moved to cali. she got almost 60K running the west coast from the mexican border to somewhere well north of Vancouver BC exploring and just running amok.

Yup. I’d hoped to keep my Evo forever, doing just that. I managed for 25 years, and that will have to do.

The last Evo Harley made. My first Harley was a 2000 Heritage Softail with a carbed Twin Cam which I learned a lot about those engines. Had three EFI Twin Cams. Now I have the Evo and while everything is simple, it takes more than a computer to tune. I can do all of the work and enjoy tinkering with it. I bought from a very good buddy of mine who had it since new. Even though it was kept in immaculate condition, it still has parts on it that are 21 years old that need attention. I've gone through most of the bike and have some plans this winter. Struggling with keeping it stockish or just go nuts. I plan to hand it down to my nephew but I doubt it's ever going to be worth loads of money stock or otherwise. It's almost like I have to unevolve when getting my head around this bike. 60k miles on her and still going.

Default The Model T Engine, why did they scrap it?

Because it became outdated, as the EVO engine has.

Never owned an EVO. I have a TC and an M8. Both great bikes. No problems with either. Personally, I think Harley's get better every iteration, regardless of the hiccups all new models experience. The EVO saved the MoCo and I'm good with that.
