There's little doubt that helmet threads are plentiful however after reviewing a number of them most reference helmets that are now obsolete so unless I was buying a used helmet they aren't much help.
I've been wearing a HJC IS-MAX for about 8 years now and wear it on long road trips or when it's cold out.
Even though it's still serviceable it's showing much wear and I'm also considering going full face all the time and retiring my skull cap.
Since I'm considering going to a full face all the time I'm looking at putting more focus on the helmet than the price of it.
As expected price seems to line up with quality and features so it's likely good that I'm not focusing so much on price.
The Simpson Outlaw Mod Bandit ($500-$750) and Shoei Neotec 2 ($750) is what my research has taken me.
I've actually tried on the Simpson and it really appeals to me but many people seem to love the Shoei and that looks to have the features I'm looking for as well.
I've never tried on the Shoei so I don't know how that fits..
Also to note I want to clamp on my Sena 20S so if the sunvisor adjuster is at the lower left chin like the newer HJC I90 or the Schuberth C3 Pro that helmet is out.
My 20S works well and I don't want to spend another $300 upgrading to another head set system just because of the helmet I'm putting it on.
So what "newer" Modular helmet do you have and briefly why do you recommend it?

To the Moderator that moved this thread.
I get this is not specific related to Harley Davidson so I understand why it got moved to off-topic.
What I don't understand is why my thread got moved while others have not been moved?
As I look at the "General Harley Davidson Chat" there's a number of threads not directly related to Harley Davidson, why haven't these been moved?
Here's all the non-Harley page 1 topics on the "General Harley Davidson Chat" that are no more related to Harleys than my Helmet thread.
One is even a helmet thread.
I have the Simpson Mod Bandit. I like the look and the weight. The weight, or lack there of was the primary reason I purchased it. I may actually upgrade to the carbon version when the time comes. I believe the Neotec is quieter. Coming from a 1/2 helmet, this wasn’t a big deal for me. I’m sure you’ll be happy with either choice.
I suggest you try on the helmet before you purchase. If you have cycle gear around where you live, the carry the neotec. I myself have the original neotec, xxl. Other helmets I tried on were xl. Also, Shoei is designed for a more oval head. Not sure what shape Bell is designed for. I too wear a 20S on the side of my helmet and it doesn't interfere with the slider for the internal sun shades
I have the mod bandit. Not that loud. Comfy. Looks good. Many variations of tints for visor, flip down shades and pin locks. No complaints here. My wife has a C3 Pro, she loves it. Very nice quality. We both tried the neotech and it just seemed clunky, but still a great helmet.
The Mod Bandit comes in only 2 shell sizes I believe. SM/MD and Lar/XL/ XXL. I wear a large and that helmet made me look like a bobble head character. While I know loud is relative, the Simpson Helmets are LOUD compared to Shoei or others.
Both the Neotec and the GT Air II ( which I have) are designed to use the Sena Com systems. Some like that feature but if you have a CardioPac like me it's not ideal. The visor lever is up high on the left side for both helmets.
I was on the fence for the Neotec II and the GT Air II (after returning the Simpson Mod). I ultimately went with the GT Air II for the fit and function. Best helmet I've ever had. Both are great helmets.
(PSA, Don't underestimate the loudness and hearing loss that can come from a helmet that is too loud)
I currently wear an HJC IS-MAX 2 (older Harley Capstone) modular helmet and I like it a lot. Last month, I tried on a Shoei Neotech 2 modular to see what the big deal was, and I found out. The Shoei makes your head feel like its being cradled in the bosom of an angel. Seriously. Who wouldn't pay $750 for that??!! When I replace my IS-MAX 2, it'll be with a Shoei.
I had Shoei Neotec 2 helmet, but I shipped it back to Revzilla because it was too large. However, I have to say that the quality is fantastic. I am going to get a smaller size as soon as they refund me the money. I would recommend it based on it's quality. It's not the lightest helmet however. it has a spot to hook up SENA system, so there is space for ear parts in there.
