Question Hello, I need help!

Hello, long story short, I inherited some rolling chassis. I'm not very familiar with harleys, so I'm looking for some help identifying things and figuring out what they might be worth in their current state.
it's too much for me to hold onto, any help is appreciated. Thank you!

They are both Shovelhead engines. Which were produced by Harley-Davidson from 1966 to 1984

The black gas tank bike is I believe a 1968 (68FLH4951) on the left case.

I can’t see the other one because the shifter linkage blocks it.

That’s all I got.

Both are pre-'70.
Looks like both are rotary top trannys.
In any case, in that shape...$3-5K each.

The are pre-shovelhead shovel heads. Both appear to be on pan bottoms and the oil pump on the first one is definitely pre-shovelhead. neither has a shovel head primary, so both are shovel/pans.

ETA: the red one has a pan wishbone frame with the sidecar loops. If the rest of the frame is in the same condition, that would raise the value.

Do you have titles with them? That would affect the values.

Looks like the beginnings of two very cool projects for the right person.

Black bike: IF the numbers are real then it`s a factory produced "generator shovel " ( AKA 'Flatside Shovel" ) which were made `66 - `69
Note L.H. case has been machined flat , I assume to add the belt drive
The frame is obviously aftermarket

Red Bike: The presence of a tin primary would lead to a Pan bottom `47-64 with Shovel heads added at later date
The Wishbone frame was used `48-`52. But the horseshoe oil tank has been substituted with later unit from a swingarm frame along with the battery box
It does not have a rotary top tranny
Engine number would answer a lot ( belly numbers on both would help with authenticity of engine serial #, plenty of cases been "tattooed" over the years
There are no frame VIN`s till `70 or `71

Plenty of value if this post is for real

I never heard it termed like that. There were two basic configurations of Shovels. '66-'69 still used the generator cases (we call them genny-shovels), In '70, they went to alternator cases ( we call those cone-shovels). That coincided with the beginning of the AMF-era.
