Prevents my jacket from riding up and will keep the jacket in place in case of an off from the bike. The kit comes with both sides of the zipper so you can sew it into any jacket. Revit jackets come with the zipper already installed.
Man, that's a great idea and all, but I think I would hate to be riding with a wedgie....
I had a leather jacket made & it was pretty stiff for the first 3 years. I wore it a lot, even when I wasn't riding. I put conditioner on it every 6 months. Finally it's starting to loosen up.
That's good to hear. It gives me some hope. The reason why I went with those jackets (641 model) is because they look good when not riding. I wanted something like that and not strictly a riding jacket. I realize that they are different cuts, but 641 is kind of cut like a motorcycle jacket.
My wife thinks I am obsessed with this because I keep putting the jacket on and taking it off...What I noticed is, when I bring my arms horizontal, the whole collar on the back goes up. It's like the whole back is riding up as soon as I put my arms in that position. It doesn't feel tight when I wear it, it feels like it fits me just right.
Post a picture of how the jacket fits you. I have a heavy leather jacket, and a Cordura/leather jacket. Neither one rides up. If you have to contort yourself to keep it from riding up, what good will it do you in a crash?
So I got some potential resolution to my very major issues lol
I checked again and the front of the jacket is causing it to fold and ride up because it's about 1.5 inches too long. When I fold it on the bottom, it doesn't ride up. I spoke with Schott and they will install a dual zipper, so it zips from the bottom and top. This helps the front issue. I really don't want to shorten them because I want to wear it when I am not riding. For the back collar coming up, I was told by them to give it time since the jacket is brand new. It will soften up and mold to my body.
Looks like I will be avoiding wedgie solution, because I was seriously starting to consider it lol
This may be extreme. I do believe some manufacturers of "tactical" gun belts have Velcro on the exterior so holsters, mag carriers, knives, etc. can be velcroed to the belt. Such a belt with several tabs of the corresponding piece of Velcro sewn to the bottom hem of your jacket may hold it down.
