My dealer supplied a brand new genuine Harley Davidson 750 mA battery tender. (Most likely made in China).
I was surprised to find it in the saddlebag along with the owners guide and other documentation after they delivered the bike. It plugs in the bikes pigtail. I leave the pigtail hanging just visible under the side panel so it's always easy to access.
Normally in the summer I don't use the tender. I never let the bike sit for more than a couple of days without riding it.
Pigtail with fuse, used a cable tie to keep it in place under the seat but just hanging out enough to attach the charger, and also have a "cigarette lighter socket" in the same side bag that I can plug into the battery pigtail for phone charging (though never used it!).
Going to hook up pigtail today....lithium batteries do not need to be on a tender like AGM batteries....I'll hook up tender as needed, depending on how much I ride
Yep. Pigtails on all my bikes. These days, most are factory installed and part of the main wiring loom. I use Optimate and Noco tenders/chargers.
And I put a Noco battery harness on each bike so that should I need to, I can easily jump start the bike. The new Softails and Pan Americas are a pain in the *** to access the battery to use alligator clips and you can't get to the starter motor either. It's either use a big screwdriver or a harness. After you have done the screwdriver trick a few times, you know adding the harness makes sense.
