Foot Pegs vs. Floor Boards. Which do your prefer and why?
Foot pegs vs Floor boards. Which do you prefer and why? The bigger the bike, the bigger the area for the foot. Smaller bikes have foor pegs, cruisers and touring floor boards. Which do you prefer and why? If you have floor boards, do you always go with the heel toe shifter??
Both of my bikes have Cyclesmiths Banana Boards in XL for good reason. I can move my feet a metric **** ton all over the place. Try keeping that comfortable on any other motorcycle option.
Well considering Baggers/Touring bikes would look ridiculous with foot pegs, and Sportsters and Dynas would look silly with floor boards, the only real question is . . . What do you like better on your Softail, pegs or boards?
I have Joker Mini floor boards on my Fat Bob and like @adm mention it's the best of both worlds.
As for heel toe shifter, I've only ridden one bike with it and it was not great. There is a reason the shift pattern most all bikes is "1-down, 4-5 up" and not "1-down, 4-5-down on the rear of the shifter"
I had forward controls on an FX years ago and boards on the baggers with heel/toe. Ive got size 14s and long legs. I need the real estate for my boats.
I preferred boards when I was eating asphalt but now that I dont ride nearly as much, pegs are fine.
Although Ive had heel shifters, Im not a big fan of them.
