Apparently there isn't any law against doing this kind of scamming. Now if a Congressman or some District Attorney lost his money in one of these scams, they would have no problem finding a way to prosecute and recover. Kinda makes me wonder, who is really behind these things.
Buying on ebay, I use Paypal. Right after a transaction, I recieved what looked like an official Paypal email stating there was unauthorized use of my account and it would be suspended until I verified my banking info. Luckily I didn't and forwarded it to spoof@paypal.com
Paypal will always use the name on file to address you in the email. For example, if your first name on your paypal account is Turd, then every email will start with 'Dear Turd'
