Visited my dealer last week, only three new bikes and about two dozed used ones. Lots of clothes and boots though. Probably hard to make it with limited new inventory. The selling season is winging down fast too.
Ed Morse Automotive Group is buying every dealership they can get their hands on.
But this if the first I've seen of them getting into a Harley dealership.
They have hundreds of auto dealerships from Florida to Iowa.

Hundreds?
We have extended our operations across the country into the states of Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Illinois, and most recently, Iowa. The Group currently consists of 34 locations that house 63 automotive franchises and 15 domestic and import brands of vehicles, plus a NAPA Auto Parts retail store and a 240,000 square foot Parts and Distribution Center that has over 80 trucks on the road.
The one here was just bought out the same way. The business owns several car lots and such along with a larger HD dealership about 100 miles from here. Hopefully they make it better as I never really cared for this one.
Probably the best dealership around me, Pocono Mountain Harley Davidson, was purchased by American road group, who owns around a dozen dealerships.
One of the 1st things they did was cancel the Harley demo truck event, which the dealerhip had hosted for years. Next all the price tags were removed from the bikes, there's absolutely nothing on them now so you don't even know used from new. You ask for a price, the answer is come into my office.
I haven't been back since, but what I'm hearing is they blacked out the prices on all of the merchandise on the floor as well.
Unfortunately this seems to be happening more and more as long time mom and pop type dealerships get swallowed up by these conglomerates.
It really makes me infuriated but the only thing I can do to protest it is take my business elsewhere.
