I had a friend riding up here from Texas, to pick up a new bike on a signed deal.
He was killed in Missouri by a left-turning 85 year-old lady.
His wife asked if, under the circumstances, they would keep the bike and cancel the deal. They said no.
They did keep the bike, but for less than he paid, because it was technically "used", even though he never left the lot on it.
The paperwork had already been processed, and they could not re-sell it as a new bike.
Bought a car from a Dealer & they screwed around , did not Deposit my check
Thye thought it was bad check & Salesman made the mistake of telling me that in a roundabout way
I was pissed, told them to keep the car...never drove it off the lot
Bought a truck from a Ford Dealer, they wrote up the wrong truck
Deal was off, but Ford sent me a survey to see how I liked my new truck
I blasted the dealership, as the salesman was screwing around & & said they would sell me another truck
Never heard from either one again
Laws vary by state
I always read paperwork & know what I am signing
I verify payment & full cost.
Enjoy the bike and dont **** in the cherios after the fact.. As long as Mr Beads didnt do your negotiations, just get used to your perma-grin and go ridin...
LOL you are right about that and I kick my self in the *** lol but really they got me for about 1500 because they do have set up fees and fright which I know they get reimbursed by Harley and I got some free slips ons . I just trying to be positive lol
set up they get a small reibursement from the moco. freight they do not, and that is a set fee charged on every bike regardless of distance. the freight in wi is the same as the freight in ca. now, whether or not the buyer actually pays it is a different story. but rest assured, the factory gets it from every bike sold.
you state that you feel like you got a good deal. i would drop it at this point. if you are happy with the otd price, then it really doesn't matter how they wrote the deal up. if you go back to try to get the set up reduced, they are likely to just that amount in somewhere else.
don't second guess yourself, just enjoy the bike when you get it.
