The Carolina Girl and I rode Ginger up to Wilkesboro, NC to join Mike, Micah and crew from Crossroads HD. We were part of the Return to Wilkesboro NASCAR Hauler Parade through town.
It was exciting running up Highway 421 passing several haulers heading to the event. As we passed the speedway you could feel the excitement in the air. It was alive with hundreds of people already set up camping on the grounds. It's amazing how much work has been done in such a short time.
We stopped by Crossroads on the way up and it was a little quiet up there this afternoon. Everyone had already gone over to Call Family Distillers located on the old airport runway off Hwy 268. There is no better place to stage a parade for 30+ NASCAR haulers than a several thousand straight and level runway on the main street through Wilkesboro.

I spoke with Renee, and she is not only a beautiful lady, but also a very sweet person. The picture does not show how tall she is. With those heels I was looking up to her. I asked if she could spare a few inches of those legs for my wife, and she cracked up!

We pulled out from the group and found a place to park and capture some photo's as they came down the hill from the downtown section. I got some good shots of the motorcycles.
Thanks for riding along. The total round trip was 100.2 miles with temps in the mid 60's and overcast today. The bike ran very well and I had a chance to try out the new Freedom shield.
We were running a little late and grabbed a "Whopper" at the local Burger King to hold us over until we returned home.

Yeah, I saw where you had tried the Copper Barrel. We've eaten there a time or three. There are several good restaurants near the old courthouse. It's a nice area to visit and spend time in.
